The true secret of happiness lies in taking genuine interest in all the details of daily life. I’ve always wondered why I enjoy watching vlogs, filming my little vlogs and editing them so much and I think that quote sums it up. I admit I love watching my faves on youtube go about their daily lives, seeing what they eat and just pottering around really. Some of my faves include Louise Roe, Niomi Smart, The Anna Edit, Carly Rowena and Venetia Falconer. It’s actually quite lovely that we can find such interest in the details of our daily lives. So without further a do, I was inspired to vlog again. This week involved lots of lovely Pilates classes, teaching a press event for the Sainsburys My Hair Matters launch, lots of sunshine, a trip to the theatre, a girly sleepover and what’s in my cupboards…
A few highlights included being at The Sanderson Hotel teaching a Pilates class to launch the new My Hair Matters range to press and influencers. I was treated to getting my hair styled at the spa on the morning of the event which was such a lovely early morning treat at 7am. Alicia Mendez, Sainsbury’s Product Developer, introduced the new My Hair Matters range and was really passionate that you can get good quality ingredients in products without it having to be expensive and the range I got to take home included Wheat Proteins which I’ve heard is really good for damaged hair which definitely applies to me with my constant need for beachy balayage!
I took the guests through a 45 minute Pilates class focusing on breathing, toning and mobility. I know that hair isn’t everything but just like healthy eating and exercising, it makes me feel better and I don’t think there’s any harm in wanting a little boost by taking care of your appearance. I think getting my hair done for the event definitely gave me a boost of confidence as I still get super nervous before teaching classes. I love teaching people who haven’t done Pilates before and changing their perspective on it. Lots of the girls throughout the week of teaching events said it was surprisingly harder than they thought but they also felt really relaxed. Exercising and working your body but also keeping calm and controlled is what Pilates is all about and for me, just feels so lovely to exercise in this way.
