“You have a treasure within you that is infinitely greater than anything the world can offer.” – Eckhart Tolle
Somewhere along the line, living an active healthy lifestyle has become hard work and effort. It’s something that we have to think about and find inspiration and motivation to do and I really believe it can be easier. It becomes easy when you realise that you are so unique and what works for you will be completely different to your friend, boyfriend, work colleague…
Life makes us lose touch with our intuition, especially as we get busier, have more information available to us and become influenced by social media and TV. I don’t want to look back on my twenties and see that my happiness was defined by whether my stomach felt flat that day, if I got the perfect Instagram shot or if I was eating the trendiest superfood.
I always have to remind myself to relax a little more and define how well I am living based on how much fun I’m having and how happy I am day by day. Taking care of myself, having a body that is flexible, strong and healthy, having relationships that are filled with joy and laughter and love and then spreading that love and happiness with those around me are my priorities and then it’s easy.
On my most recent retreat, the chef made a comment which really stuck with me. It was one I’d heard before and I’m sure you may have too but the way he said it was so different and profound and I’ve been sharing it with everyone since. He said that for him, it was all about how he received his food which made the difference to how he felt his body processed it. If he had a kind heart, kind thoughts and was open and grateful then that was much more important than whatever it was he was putting in his body.
When it comes to health, it isn’t just about what you eat; health for me is everything. It’s not a salad compared to a burger or a courgetti compared to a carbonara. It’s the thoughts you think, the relationships in you life, it’s how you live and breathe and sleep and love. Health is a feeling inside for me that is my absolute best I can be on that day, at that time, in my surroundings. If I’m not feeling that, I know to tune into my intuition and take simple steps to get me back my best or maybe just a bit better.
My hope is that my blog, videos, social media and journey inspires you, motivates you but also reminds you to keep being you and listening because I’m not a guru (no-one is) and I’m still learning and growing. Don’t be afraid to admit that ever. Sometimes you may need a little reminder or nudge in the right direction, you may feel like you need to seek advice from a professional or take a course in something you become interested in but always remember that you have within you everything you need to live the fullest healthiest happiest life that you deserve and that you are doing just fine.
“Having a strong sense of who you are improves overall happiness.”
So many people spend their lives without truly waking up and taking their life into their own hands by thinking about their health, how they move, how they treat others, how they treat themselves, how they spend their time on this planet. How do you really want to spend your time on this planet? We live in a today where the possibilities are endless, don’t let that scare you, let that fuel you and make you excited to create the body, mind and life of your dreams. I want to help you eat well for you, find movement you love, friends to cherish, relationships to love, values to live by and it all starts with you.
It is possible because you are limitless, you just have to wake up every day and remind yourself that before life gets in the way.
Love, Lottie x
