Like lots us today, I have many different hats to wear when we comes to my “job”, putting that in quotation marks because I don’t see myself as even having a proper job. I have a life and a career and the two are very much entwined. I’m all about work/life balance and as a Pilates instructor and lifestyle blogger, there’s definitely no 9-5 or even Monday to Friday work week. I might be teaching, organizing events and retreats, writing, shooting, reviewing restaurants, attending a press launch, meeting brands and photographers, researching, travelling and within that I love working out, cooking, seeing my friends etc, so a day in the life doesn’t really exist but a typical day might look something like this.

Retreat life is all about stepping away from everyday stresses and immersing yourself in the ultimate self care routine from waking up to going to sleep. I might only grab time for a 45 minute Pilates session, a quick smoothie catch up with a friend or a 5 minute cleanse tone and moisturise in the evening during my day to day life but on retreat, well my retreats anyway, we completely soak up every opportunity to take care of ourselves and the schedule is basically like my perfect day from start to finish. It’s that time of year again when I overhear so many conversations about people going to drastic measures to lose weight for holidays, weddings etc. It’s okay, I get it! We’re post Easter and post the first May bank holiday and it kind of feels like you need a kick start again and set some serious resolutions that are basically the same as the new year ones you set 4 months ago. I hear ya! I’m still trying to kick my sugar habit! Let the guilt go, try to avoid setting yourself unachievable goals like smashing a 10k run every morning and approach your journey to beach life in an easy breezy self loving way with my go to lifestyle habits for healthy happy body. Having guilt is not healthy so take a deep breathe and start a new day…

The weekends can fly by and there’s nothing worse than that Sunday night feeling wondering where those two days went, either from being slumped on the sofa watching reality TV because you’ve had exhausting work week or because you’ve been running from A to B with kids/parents, doing chores and somehow attending five social occasions across two days.
