It’s Never Too Late Too Dream Big

dream big postI recently had to write a biography for Cosmopolitan Online as I’m doing some freelance writing for them (eek) I never thought that I’d be asked to write for one of my favourite magazines when I was younger although I’ve always been so passionate about writing. I just didn’t think I would be good enough and as a young ambitious dancer I was going in a completely different direction. Dreams can change especially as you go from your teens to your twenties and if those dreams you had as a young girl aren’t your dreams today or didn’t come true, then find new dreams! The bio had to be short, get to the point and show who I really am. This is what I wrote…

I’ve realised recently that so many of us are craving time away from our phone. In the world we live in today our phones determine the way we live our lives and are vital if you have a business, are an entrepreneur or simply want to stay up to date with news. However we are starting to have a love hate relationship and I want to find ways to continue to embrace the digital world without becoming addicted. To learn to love it and use it when necessary but then know when to be a human! Read on to find out what I’m doing to find that balance…

I must admit I am someone who was a little sceptical of meditation to start with but after various attempts at Take 10 and the Deepak Chopra’s 21 Day meditations I started to feel the benefits- if only I could find those 10 minutes every day! It’s something that’s definitely moving up on the priority list now and after a weekend teaching Pilates at The Retreat Collection Yoga And Pilates retreat, where we did lots of different meditations, I was inspired to fully commit to a daily practice again. The main difference I notice is that I am calmer. In general my mood is enhanced, my energy levels improve, I make better choices, I feel more certain, I am more productive and more aware of my surroundings. Something That Changed Me This Week

I got the loveliest opening line to an email this week that really made me think. It read…

Hope you are very well after the holidays and don’t need to make too many NY resolutions – you are the perfect version of yourself already!

I thought what a refreshing way to view the new year; by celebrating that we are already pretty cool just as we are.

There’s a sense of panic in January for us to successfully become the perfect versions of ourselves whether that be with what we eat, how we workout, our careers, our lifestyle, our night time routine…the list goes on. What if we just stayed the same, would that be so bad?

Is comparison stealing your happiness and confidence? In today’s world we are bombarded with perfect images of bodies, lifestyles, homes, holidays, careers, relationships and it can quite frankly make your own little life feel a little poop right. In my new video this week, I just wanted to share with you how I felt about this silly little thing we do, comparing our lives to a snapshot of someone elses and then beating ourselves up for not being perfect…

Down In The Dumps

Like a bad hair day, sometimes we can wake up a little down in the dumps for no reason at all! I haven’t really felt myself the last couple of days and have been a little down in the dumps on some days for the last few weeks. Some people have even noticed and asked if I’m okay which was at first making me feel really uneasy and defensive. I’d beat myself up for letting people see that I was a bit groggy and not my usual positive bright self but sometimes I just can’t help being a little subdued.

It’s like we just aren’t good enough and constantly need fixing. Well I just want to say lovely, you don’t need fixing!
