Giving Up On The 5 Year Plan And Focusing On Everyday Life Goals

Lottie_VeryUK_EverydayLifeGoals.JPG

I’ve always had a strong idea of what I want my life to look like but I’ve never really had a 5 or 10 year plan. I remember thinking from a young age that I just want to be happy every day. I do change my mind a lot and I like to change things up too which is probably why I live the freelance life but some days all I want to do is move away from London and open up a little Pilates studio and cafe by the ocean and have a routine. Then the next day I’m loving London life and the fact every day is so different. The world we live in today is fast paced, things change daily and so do we. If you change your goals or change your mind it doesn’t mean you don’t know who you are or what you want.

Realistic Morning Routine Goals For Summer

nikeepicreact sardinia, nikerunners, lottiemurphyblog, lifestyleblog, fitnessblog

I’m such a morning person in the Summer. The fact it gets light before 6am helps me feel energised and I usually can’t wait to start the day. Sometimes I love to have lazy mornings with breakfast in bed, reading and the curtains pulled open so the sunshine is coming through but I also love to start my day with early morning movement a few times a week. I caught up with you back in March pre my 10k run in Greenwich park and how I was getting motivated to run in Spring, read the post here, so I thought I’d update you on my running goals and my new Summer morning routine plan.

The Most Delicious Nourish Bowl

Since writing my last blog post about my Spring reset, I had a little relapse. I got hit by the flu which completely wiped me out for a week but surprisingly it actually put me right off coffee and chocolate (two of my hard to budge vices), and I’ve launched nicely into my Spring reset this week-lemon water, green tea and lots of yummy fruit and vegetables. The illness also helped get me started on another of my Spring reset points which was to read before bed. The TV and my phone was giving me such a headache so I actually finished the book I was reading and am on to my next. I hate to say it but thank you flu. On Sunday, I was feeling well enough to take a trip to the farmers market and spend some time in the kitchen. I was craving all the vegetables to feel nourished from the inside out and I made my Mum and I this delicious nourish bowl. What is a nourish bowl?

We are half way through February and I thought I’d talk a little bit about my personal fitness routine, goals and how I stay motivated. I have some weeks where I’m less active than others usually the week before my period or when I’m travelling but I feel like I have been quite consistently motivated for the past 6 months due to a few reasons like finding more routine, having buddies to workout with and getting to know my optimal time to workout. There’s still things I’d like to improve which I’ll talk about too.

How I Rebalance After A Busy Day, 7 Minute Yogi Tea Pilates Flow Routine

I live a health conscious lifestyle and have done for many years now and my approach is very holistic; I strongly believe in the balance between body mind and spirit. When they aren’t in balance things don’t flow smoothly and I simply don’t feel well. This is something I’ve become much more aware of in the last year. Sometimes the day flows smoothly, I wake up and feel motivated, productive and calm. Other days when things don’t run as smoothly and I constantly feel distracted; there’s a few things I do to feel more balanced and in the flow again. It might be that I’m overwhelmed with work or rushing from A to B and this is when there’s nothing I love more than to get home switch the world out and find that inner balance again. When I start to feel stress building up, I know I need to simplify life. I close all my tabs, shut my laptop down, unload my rucksack, have a shower and then there’s nothing more I love doing to feel refreshed than enjoying an aromatic brew of tea and get my body moving…

Porridge is my go to breakfast in the morning and like a lot of people I know I even look forward to my morning bowl the night before, it’s the little things in life! I’ve always loved the way Oats So Simple porridge turns out so creamy, it’s exactly the consistency I love my oats to be and what would usually take me 15 minutes with regular rolled oats, takes 2 minutes with their handy sachets; perfect for a morning when I’m heading out early to workout or teach clients. They have just launched a range of protein oats too with 15% of the sachet being plant based soya protein…

3 Days In Cornwall; Surfing, Sunshine and Skincare

So I’ve fallen in love with Cornwall. I went once before as one of my best friends is from there and we had a girly getaway exploring tea rooms and a little bit of the nightlife but this time I really felt like I got to experience what Cornwall is all about; vast countryside, epic dramatic beaches, cosy cottages, incredible seafood and I even took to the ocean for the first time with a surfboard! I’m basically a wannabe Cornish surfer gal now! So I thought I’d share a little bit about my most recent trip to this beautiful part of the world with you because if you haven’t been then pack your cosiest pjs, a wetsuit and get your butt there. Here’s what we got up to…
