Breakfast At Farmacy With Daisy London And Crystals

I was honoured to be asked my one of my favourite jewellery brands (Citrine Birthstone), Daisy London, to be one of the ambassadors for their new healing stones collection. I represent the Rose Quartz pendant which is the crystal of unconditional love and has a subtle pink complexion. I absolutely love it and have been wearing it every day. To have a healing stone that is said to carry a soft, feminine energy of compassion and tenderness around my neck daily is really special and reminds me to always choose love over fear. I got together with the Daisy girls at Farmacy in Notting Hill for a morning of teas, coffee, avocado on toast, pancakes and to talk all things crystals…

Jasmine Hemsley’s Quinoa and Coriander Seed Flapjack Recipe

If you haven’t heard of Jasmine Hemsley and her latest East By West, Mind Body Balance recipe book then where and what have you been doing these last few weeks? She’s the glowing girl of the moment and her new recipe book is a hit in my house. I’ve always been a fan of the Hemsley and Hemsley girlies and their recipes for years after meeting them at a Supper Club a few years ago. Last year, Jasmine Hemsley opened a pop up cafe just off Regents Street called East By West which was inspired by Ayurveda; Jasmine was there one day I visited, glowing from head to toe as she always does and bought over a golden spoon to our table.

Orange and Avocado Porridge

Porridge is my go to breakfast in the morning and like a lot of people I know I even look forward to my morning bowl the night before, it’s the little things in life! I’ve always loved the way Oats So Simple porridge turns out so creamy, it’s exactly the consistency I love my oats to be and what would usually take me 15 minutes with regular rolled oats, takes 2 minutes with their handy sachets; perfect for a morning when I’m heading out early to workout or teach clients. They have just launched a range of protein oats too with 15% of the sachet being plant based soya protein…

3 Days In Cornwall; Surfing, Sunshine and Skincare

lottiemurphy lifestyle yoga balanceme

So I’ve fallen in love with Cornwall. I went once before as one of my best friends is from there and we had a girly getaway exploring tea rooms and a little bit of the nightlife but this time I really felt like I got to experience what Cornwall is all about; vast countryside, epic dramatic beaches, cosy cottages, incredible seafood and I even took to the ocean for the first time with a surfboard! I’m basically a wannabe Cornish surfer gal now! So I thought I’d share a little bit about my most recent trip to this beautiful part of the world with you because if you haven’t been then pack your cosiest pjs, a wetsuit and get your butt there. Here’s what we got up to…

My First Fitness Challenge + Cherry Bakewell Slice Recipe

lottiemurphy princestrustambassasor palace2palace lifestyleblogger

So this time next week I’ll be setting out on a 45 miles bike ride from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle. It’s for the Princes Trust #Palace2Palace charity bike ride and when I first signed up in January, the 1st October seemed like very long long way away. I haven’t had a bike since I was 7 and have never even thought I’d be an adult that rides a bike on an actual road that has cars and buses and roundabouts on it but here I am in 2017 with a proper bike, quite a few road miles in the bag and about to embark on my first charity cycle challenge…

A Girly Getaway, My Guide To Palma

lottie murphy travel guide to palma

Mallorca is an island I really want to discover more of as the whole island has so much to offer and the north is potentially more beautiful than the south but there’s something special about Palma old town that is definitely worth a visit. This is more of a diary entry from a week away in the sun with four of my best friends including some of our fave finds, favourite ice cream parlours and flavours and my favourite holiday pics. If you’re planning a long weekend, a chilled week in the sunshine or a simply want some inspiration then have a read. Here’s my little guide to Palma de Mallorca…

Wellbeing Wednesdays: Stress Less

I thought I’d follow some of my own advice and have a little more structure to my blog. I am going to aim to have a regular ‘wellbeing wednesday’ post, a regular ‘foodie friday’ post and then my sunday video each week. I want to be honest with you and admit that this may not happen every week and of course I will sometimes have other reviews/meal plan posts too but I feel like my blog and I will get along much better with some structure and routine- so here we go with the first Wellbeing Wednesday!

Stress Less

IMG_1366

We can all be a lit touchy sometimes. It’s okay, we are only human and can’t be calm and have it all together 24/7 but being stressed out isn’t fun. To be honest, I do feel quite lucky that I don’t lead a stressful life and am a pretty stress free person but I know that a lot of people suffer from stress and everyone’s different! It could be that you are stressed because of a life changing nightmare or it could be that you are stressed due to not having a snack!

Being stress free is component of good health and balance in your life- that’s what I’m all about!

I believe that stress can lead to illness, destruct relationships, make you gain weight and just generally make you feel a bit AHHHHH! So let’s get stress free, here’s my top tips…

NOSHDETOX 3 Day Juice Cleanse Review

I’ve only ever done a one day juice cleanse before back in March (read my post here) which I really enjoyed and found pretty manageable apart from physically missing chewing food! I said I wanted to give a 3 day one a go and felt that half way through summer was a great time to go for it. This time I was lucky enough to review the Juice Fast with Nosh Detox.

Just to confirm I wasn’t doing a cleanse to lose weight and I generally don’t think that this should be the main reason for anyone doing a cleanse however I like the thought of giving my digestive system a little break and gut time to heal and as a way of getting my skin glowing mid summer and to balance out a few alcohol filled weekends!

This was a fruit cleanse too which I was a little sceptical about due to the concern of too much sugar however the great thing about it is the smoothies are whole pieces of fruit blended with super foods and water. Nosh do not separate the juice and pulp! “Fresh Fruit fibre keeps you fuller for longer and the fibre releases the fruit sugars slowly unlike pasteurised concentrated juices.” Nosh

Note: Due to the fact the juices were just blended fruit, I did decide to eat some avocado and some leafy greens each day too. This is because I know my body and I have relatively low body fat so it’s important for my hormones to eat good fats every day. As I am not strict with any detox or cleanse I do, I believe this was important.

“Every day, we eat things we shouldn’t and come into contact with all sorts of toxins without even knowing it. We are not designed to deal with this sort of overload and can become backed up. Our systems then start to fail.  Doing a detox allows your body to catch up and process all of that build up bringing your body into homeostasis or balance.”

Geeta Sidhu-Robb, CEO and founder of Nosh Detox Delivery

Examples of The Juices

Coconut milk, Pineapple, Bananas, flaxseed for Omega 3, 6 and Protein

Passion fruit, Orange, Mango, Lime with Acai

Pears, Oranges, Berries, Lemon and Green Superfood

Day 1

The first thought I normally have when I wake up is… BREAKFAST- MMMM! This is what I had when I woke up and then realised oh actually I have a ginger and lemon tonic and then aren’t supposed to drink my first smoothie until 11am eek! However after my hot water and lemon, a nice shower and a little down time watching the news, I didn’t feel hungry or like I needed breakfast at all. I felt energised and ready to get to work.

Energising Bliss Balls

BLISS BALLS

Oh my I love blissballs. I’ve made various versions of them and also buy the bounceballs when out and about too. If you haven’t tried them or tried making your own then you must because they are so easy and require no baking or cooking. As well as being super healthy they are pretty yummy.

These blissballs are the perfect snack for the afternoon when energy levels might be a little low. Rather than reaching for a chocolate bar or coke, make a batch of these raw energising blissballs to have on hand at around 4pm. Here’s the recipe…
