Well hello Spring, lovely of you to finally arrive. I know it’s not exactly shorts weather but the fact we are not wrapping ourselves up in 100 layers anymore is just wonderful. It’s crazy how much you can appreciate a little bit of sunshine and blue skies after what feels like the longest Winter ever. I’m so excited to start swapping my morning bowl of porridge for yummy smoothies and to swap lazy afternoons watching movies on the sofa to picnics in the park with fresh fruit salads. I’m excited to feel lighter in my body and mind, a little bit sun kissed and more energised. Spring and Summer are my seasons. The Winter has dragged a little and I feel it’s taken it’s toll on my health more than usual this year- so I’m starting a little Spring reset. I’m not going to make any drastic changes but it feels like a good time of the year to hit refresh and remind myself of all the ways to feel amazing, glowing and alive.

Getting Motivated To Run This Spring | 10k Training

My Mum, the perfect example of a “non runner” perhaps even “non mover” at one stage set a goal to complete the couch to 5k last year and she did it. I hate to say that as though I’m surprised but she hasn’t really stuck to something fitness related ever. She stuck to the guidelines and schedule even during our family holiday in Portugal. Mum even continued to get her trainers on post the set 9 weeks and I went to a couple of Saturday morning 5k park runs with her near our home and it made me so proud seeing my mum cross the finish line. Since then, we’ve had a chat and realised that she needs a focus and new challenges to keep her motivated. Post Christmas she completed Race At Your Pace, receiving a little medal through the post as a sign of how she’s improved her fitness. After taking on my first fitness challenge last year and cycling 45 miles for the Princes Trust Palace To Palace Race and seeing Mum’s motivation recently I decided it’s time I signed up to a running challenge.

My Current Fitness Routine And Goals

We are half way through February and I thought I’d talk a little bit about my personal fitness routine, goals and how I stay motivated. I have some weeks where I’m less active than others usually the week before my period or when I’m travelling but I feel like I have been quite consistently motivated for the past 6 months due to a few reasons like finding more routine, having buddies to workout with and getting to know my optimal time to workout. There’s still things I’d like to improve which I’ll talk about too.

10 Ways To Feel Good And Well This Autumn Winter

avocado-toast-lottiemurphy-blog-lifestyle-autumn-wellness-feelgood

I’m feeling very excited about this Autumn and Winter. The next 6 weeks are packed with fun social and work events then I’ll be hosting my last super cozy Pilates and meditation retreat of the year before spending Christmas in Sweden. When it’s cold, crisp and dark outside there’s nothing I love more than staying in with a warm mug of something delicious, lighting a woody candle and reading a book or watching a gripping series. I’m currently hooked on Stranger Things! With that being said, I’m out most nights this week at events and I know that burning the candle at both ends leaves me feeling zapped and fighting off a cold. I thought I’d share some of the ways I like to feel good and well during the cold busy months to enter the new year on a high…

Three Hot Brunch Spots In London For Pancakes And More…

brunch london lifestyle

I’ve got a bit of a food, lifestyle, style post for you today. I’m a huge foodie and love discovering new places to eat out. I’m someone who gets overly excited about a menu and the design of the plates and mugs in a restaurant. I am also finding that places in London are now creating incredible menus for health conscious foodies as well as their fellow not so health conscious partners, friends, dads and I feel like a brunch has something for everyone…

A Sunday Well Spent Brings A Week Of Content

Regents Street Summer Streets 1_Fotor

A Sunday well spent brings a week of content and when it also involves winning a parsley plant in an egg and spoon race on Regent Street it brings a lot more than that. If you’ve read a couple of my recent posts you’ll know that I’ve been trying to make more of my weekends and find more of a work/life balance. Sunday’s in Summer should certainly not be for boring admin and loading the washing machine, they are for getting out and about and making the most of the day whatever the weather. So last Sunday I popped along to the second week of the Summer Streets festival on Regent Street to get involved in some of their health and wellbeing celebrations…

I wanted to do this blog post to tell you what to expect if you are a little unsure or new to events/Pilates…

A Pilates Instructor’s Day | What I Eat VIDEO

Every day is different for me but I thought it might be quite fun for you guys to follow me on a typical midweek day as a Pilates Instructor. In this little 2 minute video you’ll see what time I wake up, what I eat, snack on, where I have a cheeky shop, where I walk and what I see! My dinner was in particularly really yummy and I had made it the night before and then packed it for my dinner the next day too as on Wednesday’s I teach right into the evening! It was oven baked salmon, brown rice, cabbage and broccoli. I then drizzled toasted sesame oil, tamari soy sauce, chilli flakes, black sesame seeds and Himalayan crystal salt on top! You have to try it!

My Lululemon Mat Moves Class / Video Lean Legs Workout

Last Saturday I taught my Mat Moves Pilates class at the Lululemon showroom in Covent Garden. My Mat Moves class is a whole body conditioning class and incorporates Pilates exercises with traditional ballet barre exercises transferred to the mat. The class works deep intrinsic muscles that you never knew existed and aims to improve flexibility, posture and core stability to give you that long lean sculpted physique!

I was so excited to teach at the store as I love Lululemon’s activewear (I own 4 pairs of there leggings already- they are the best!) I was really looking forward to becoming part of Lululemon community especially as they are soon to be opening a new permanent store on the famous Long Arce.
