Vanilla Matcha Smoothie

matcha maidenI’m sure you’ve heard of matcha by now especially if you live in London; you can grab a matcha latte at most of my favourite cafes in the city now. So why are people choosing matcha over coffee for their energy fix? Well matcha does still contain caffeine but less than coffee and where the caffeine in coffee gives you a hit of energy very quickly; the caffeine in matcha is released slower giving you more sustained energy. It also have 137 times the antioxidants than a normal green tea as the whole green tea leaves are ground into a fine powder. On a sunny day last week I took a visit to The Good Guru headquarters in Surrey to meet with their in house nutritionist Simone.
