I get asked a lot about my skin and what I use on it so thought I’d share with you the products I use and my general outlook on skincare. I am lucky to have quite a glowing complexion naturally but my skin isn’t perfect, I do still get some spots around my chin and jaw which is hormonal and I get little dry batches if I don’t keep on top of drinking enough water and moisturising.
I see my skincare routine in the same way I see my diet and fitness regime, it needs to be varied and balanced. What you’re putting on your skin every single day probably twice a day for your whole life is pretty important. In this weeks, video I talk through my skincare regime and the full names and links to the products I use is in this post…
Variety– I don’t have one particular brand I love and use religiously. I tend to experiment and change it up a lot. Also what might do wonders for your skin for a year may then stop having such an effect so I would recommend not being rigid with the products you use.
Balance– I’ve recently started using more natural skincare brands but they are a little more expensive so again I tend to mix it up a little. In the same way you might not buy all organic fruit and veg.
So this is what I use – to take my make up off at night I use Garnier Micellar cleansing water, this is really light and although it’s not natural or organic its only got 5 ingredients and doesn’t feel harsh on my skin. I then use Ren Gentle Cleansing Milk to make sure my skin is really clean and I use warm water and a muslin cloth to remove it gently. I recommend getting a day and night cream as the night cream will do it’s job overnight soaking into you’re skin so is normally a little thicker than a day cream. I use Sukin Moisture Restore Night Cream at the moment and Pai Avocado and Jojoba Hydrating Day Cream.
I also exfoliate using Frank Bod, a natural coffee scrub every couple of weeks. I use this all over my skin and it’s perhaps the best beauty product I have ever had. It leaves your entire skin feeling baby bum soft!
Skincare is only one part of having glowing clear skin though,
Other factors like nutrition and sleep are just as important so don’t feel like you need to spend 100s of pounds on products.
