Pilates is one of my favourite things in the world. I am so passionate about it’s benefits and think it’s wonderful that literally anyone and everyone can do it. It’s one of the only forms of exercises that is truly healthy for your body and mind and you can do it forever. Some people think Pilates is just about core, some people think it’s just about flexibility and some think it’s just about relaxing. The truth is, you can’t really define Pilates or put it in a box at all. My aim is that my masterclass, The Body, simply shows people that Pilates can be fun, challenging and make you feel amazing!
In the health and fitness industry, the focus for exercising is always on looking good, getting abs or a toned bum and yes Pilates will get you these things that make you look great on the beach but unlike cycling, running, squatting- Pilates will improve your posture, spine mobility, pelvic stability, joint mobility so that when your 80 years old you may still be playing in the garden with your grandchildren. Isn’t that a wonderful thing…
“This class was totally new to me – such small movements, but with such a big impact on the body. Lottie is a brilliant, knowledgeable teacher with a confidence that really carries the class.” Cat Meffan
“The class was both challenging and fun. Lottie gently guided us through and gave modifications to suit all abilities. I absolutely loved it!” Zanna Van Dikj
The Launch
Last Sunday I held my first The Body event at the incredibly cool and hidden gem SIX3NINE studio in Covent Garden. 16 fit babes joined me in a challenging Pilates class followed by a well deserved yummy brunch with Rude Health muesli, coyo yogurt and Roots and Bulbs juices. Active in Style popped up with a rail of some of their latest collections from Vimmia, Pilot Athletic, Lorna Jane and Onzie. A few of us may have added a cheeky piece to our ever growing activewear collection.
I was so happy that everyone really enjoyed the session and it was so nice to catch up on all things healthy, munch of some yummy food and take fun photos!
“The Body with Lottie Murphy was incredible. Even when my muscles were tiring and my abs were on fire, I didn’t want to stop because Lottie made the session so fun, and did a great job of explaining the massive benefit of conditioning your body in this way. I can’t wait for more!” Natalie Goodman
The Vlog
Check out my video of the day here, you can get a real behind the scenes taste of how it ran, how I was feeling and some sneaky clips from the class…
For the event, I wore Vimmia Compression Capri Blue Crush which I felt really confident in as they are an incredible fit and a nice cut for me on the waist. I don’t like a waistline too high or too low.
“I can see why Lottie Murphy’s masterclass is called The Body – it literally felt like I was working every muscle and the range of exercises were challenging yet there was the time and guidance from Lottie to get it right. This is certainly the way to get a toned and sculpted body.” Caroline Lucey – Active In Style
“The Body was a fantastic event, I loved how hard Lottie worked my whole body, who knew Pilates could be so challenging! I felt lengthened and toned at the end and can’t wait for the next event” Natalie Glaze
My next The Body event will be on Sunday 17th May and you can book your space HERE!

Congrats Lottie, the event looked fab! Have to say I’ve found you to be a huge inspiration both on here and on insta. You’re so honest and refreshing and your approach to fitness and general well-being is one I can really identify with – something I’m finder increasingly harder to come by in the blogosphere! Tried my first Yogalates class tonight after dabbling in yoga for the past year and I LOVED it. Next up Pilates 🙂 X
Hey Sinead, thank you so much for your lovely comment. Yogalates sounds so fun, I love trying new things. Thank you so much for all your support. Hopefully you can make it to the next The Body event on 17th May 🙂 xx
