I feel like this year is on fast forward? I can’t believe we are now in October. It’s been exciting and busy for everyone but like I wrote about in my post “Don’t Forget About Me London”, we can let life run away without really sitting back and reflecting. This is why I am BIG on “me time”, slowing down and pressing pause on life. Life’s too short to spend it in a rush! There’s many ways I love to press pause but after being introduced to the new Origins RitualiTea Mask Collection recently I have a new favourite press pause moment that I wanted to share with you today.
Skincare is an essential part of my self-care routine and there’s nothing better than relaxing with a face mask on in my opinion. I’ve always spent time and money to take care of my skin from the inside out and the outside in. Origins really are the queen of masks and there are two reasons I am now in love with my RitualiTea mask.
Firstly one of my favourites from this collection, Matcha Madness is made from the superfood and super trendy matcha, yep matcha on my face please! It’s got a really lovely earthy scent that I can’t get enough of now and it makes me feel revitalised and refreshed before the mask is even on my skin. There’s three different tea masks to choose from, Matcha Madness, Oolong-La and Feeling Rosy.
The second reason this is my new favourite mask is because you get to mix it up yourself. Ancient rituals of tea inspire the range; I once did a tea meditation and it was so peaceful and I found this process of mixing the mask myself so meditative. It’s also great because you can be in charge of how thick you want the mask to be. Using the cute mixing bowl and tool, I love mine quite thick so only add a few splashes of water to 1 scoop of Matcha Madness. Then the really fun part is applying the mask using the other side of the tool and I add more to my T section. Now you’re totally ready to send a super attractive green selfie to your partner and friends.
The magic really works when you let the mask develop for 10 minutes and there’s not much you can do with a mask on your face so it’s time to press pause. There’s no better way to press pause with a matcha mask on your face then with a matcha latte in hand. As you probably know from my Instagram, a matcha latte is my go to drink when I’m on the go in London but I also make my own at home.
So this is my perfect Saturday or Sunday morning to set me up for a fabulous weekend. A matcha latte keeps me calm and focused and is high in antioxidants, the mask makes my skin feel so balanced and smooth and after 10 minutes of putting my feet up and flicking through my fave mags I feel like I’m ready to make the most of my day.
