There are certain foods and drink that only adults can consume! Examples are olives, coffee, wine, strong cheese and also grapefruits! Until the age of 20, I found all of the above repulsive and then all of a sudden I can’t get enough and I wonder what my teenager self was moaning about!
Today I choose to simply talk about the wonder that is a GRAPEFRUIT! If you were like me and spat out the first grapefruit you tasted at the age of 10 and never went back then this week I urge you to give them another go! Some reasons why…
1. They look pretty- pink or red inside which is always lovely!
2. They are high in enzymes which burn fats! (always a bonus)
3. They are fun/messy to eat!
4. They contain a lot of that Vitamin C that stops us getting ill. (WE HOPE)
5. Lower LDL (BAD) cholesterol so great for the old heart!
6. Keeps skin firm and plump! Who doesn’t love plumpy skin?
So what’s stopping you now from running to the supermarket and stocking up your basket with pink and red balls of joy!! Oh maybe Storm Judey but wait till he goes then head out and grab a grapefruit!
