I get asked a lot by friends, family and clients for a meal plan or examples of what I typical eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner and as I’m not a qualified nutritionist or dietitian I cannot give people individual diet plans however I do believe I have a lot of knowledge on nutrition and what the right things to eat are. I notice where people go wrong in their diets and I am happy to give advice.
I am very passionate about changing your lifestyle gradually, I don’t agree with restrictive diets and I would never suggest cutting out a food group to anyone.
I’ve learnt that we are all made differently and therefore respond differently to meat, gluten, lactose, fruit etc. So this meal plan works for me, it may or may not work for your body but I hope it gives you some inspiration. I am going to aim to post a daily meal plan up once a week so let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.
1 slice of rye bread with a poached egg, handful of fresh spinach leaves, 30g smoked salmon, 1 tbsp cottage cheese, sprinkle salt and pepper.
Mid Morning Snack– medium banana
Lunchbox with cabbage, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, beetroot, 25g feta cubes, turkey, olives with two 2 slices of rye bread and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
Handful of mixed nuts- Brazil, almond and walnuts with some raisins.
Afternoon snack– apple and an almond milk cacao hot drink and before I taught classes I had a ‘nakd’ cashew bar.
Mackerel, tomato and basil puy lentils on a bed of salad and spring onions with a dollop of houmous.
Dessert– Greek yogurt with blackberries and drizzle of honey.
This is a typical meal plan for me on a day where I taught 6 hours of Pilates and Barre classes therefore I needed the rye bread, banana, nakd bar etc to keep my energy levels up. I also don’t want to lose weight, I want to maintain my weight. The reasons why I eat healthy is to feel well, glowing, full of energy and life. If you incorporate nutritiously rich foods into your diet you will feel these benefits too. If you have more of a sedentary lifestyle and you aim is to lose weight then I’d maybe change the hot cacao drink to a green tea and take away some of the rye bread. These are just ideas and guidance.
Let me know if you try this diet plan or if you have any questions. I am happy to give advice. Leave a comment in the space below.
