The thought of having three nourishing homemade meals a day prepared for me for a whole weekend was enough to get me on the Eurostar to Chateau de la Vigne, the fabulous nutritional therapist May Simpkin’s home away from home where she hosts Optimum Living Retreats with friend and fellow foodie, Colette Heneghan. Well I can truly say this retreat offers so much more than I could have dreamed of.

Okay so I never use the word “fat” or “fat day”, I think that’s why I’m putting it in quotation marks which is probably a completely incorrect use of punctuation anywaaaay back to the blog post. I hear so many beautiful women say “fat day” so I thought I’d write one of my honest little posts and then give some advice on how to beat “fat day”.

When My iPhone Ran Out Of Battery And The World Didn’t End

Friday last week, I was meeting my boyfriend from work for dinner and the theatre, I hadn’t left the house with time to charge my phone up and was on 5% batt! Not panicking, not panicking… PANICKING! As it was date night, I also didn’t have my macbook ,iPad, notebook, diary or pen! I only had me, myself and my low battery iPhone. I was 30 minutes early and sitting waiting patiently in a coffee shop for Jamie. I ordered a mint tea and I knew if I looked at my iPhone my battery would die and I wouldn’t be able to contact Jamie.

23 Things I’ve Learned By My 23rd Birthday

1. Be patient. It will happen when the time is right.

2. You can count your true friends on one hand.

3. Sleep is always the priority.

4. Ask for what you want.

5. A glass of red is always a good idea.

6. Feel the fear but do it anyway.

7. Don’t stress over the small stuff, it won’t matter a year from now.

8. Continually learn and improve yourself.

9. Take pride in your appearance.

10. Take a walk, experience fresh air and nature.
