Nutrition is an evolving science and one of the most complicated confusing subjects on the planet. It really surprises me how little we know about it as it’s what makes us who we are and determines our health and future! Without it, we have nothing.
Yay, I think warmer weather has finally arrived and is here to stay. Doesn’t the sun just make you happier! As we head towards Summer, holidays and maxi dresses, I think everyone’s minds are on getting a little bit fitter and more confident in there bodies.
I was honoured to be asked recently along with 14 other health and fitness bloggers to contribute a recipe to a new ebook to raise money for B-EAT (the UKs Eating Disorder Charity). As someone who suffered with food and weight management in my teens
We are a quarter into the year already- can you believe that! It feels like yesterday that we were filling our instagram feeds with “New Year New You” inspiring quotes. As we move into the second quarter of the year, I thought it would be a good time to reflect over what a whirlwind but fabulous 2015 has been so far.
Okay so I never use the word “fat” or “fat day”, I think that’s why I’m putting it in quotation marks which is probably a completely incorrect use of punctuation anywaaaay back to the blog post. I hear so many beautiful women say “fat day” so I thought I’d write one of my honest little posts and then give some advice on how to beat “fat day”.
Friday last week, I was meeting my boyfriend from work for dinner and the theatre, I hadn’t left the house with time to charge my phone up and was on 5% batt! Not panicking, not panicking… PANICKING! As it was date night, I also didn’t have my macbook ,iPad, notebook, diary or pen! I only had me, myself and my low battery iPhone. I was 30 minutes early and sitting waiting patiently in a coffee shop for Jamie. I ordered a mint tea and I knew if I looked at my iPhone my battery would die and I wouldn’t be able to contact Jamie.
I get asked a lot whether my boyfriend eats the same as me, does Pilates, meditates and the answer is no! So how does it work? Firstly I wouldn’t have him be any other way and I love the fact that we work in completely different industries, he is like the little pin that pops my health conscious bubble which, for me, is definitely something I need every now and again!

6. Feel the fear but do it anyway.
7. Don’t stress over the small stuff, it won’t matter a year from now.
8. Continually learn and improve yourself.
9. Take pride in your appearance.
10. Take a walk, experience fresh air and nature.
Okay so its “new year new you” time and I don’t know about you but I am being bombarded with health kick propaganda from every source possible. This is great unless it’s your birthday and your boyfriend’s birthday in January! My birthday is 16th January, next Friday, (FYI yes I am accepting presents by post ;)) and I am certainly going to be enjoying a few glasses of bubbly and eating some cake! However this isn’t the only reason I am not a fan of detoxing/hitting the gym hard in January…
2015 is going to be a fabulous year for you! Set out with the right intentions, be positive and make this your year! I get so excited at new year because I love fresh starts! I am a fan of resolutions and I make them every year but also believe that every single day can be a fresh start and new opportunity to set goals, be healthier, be kinder and chase dreams! So if it gets to January 8th and you’ve given up on all your resolutions then take a deep breath, re-focus, re-evaluate and start a fresh on January 9th!
