Yay, I think warmer weather has finally arrived and is here to stay. Doesn’t the sun just make you happier! As we head towards Summer, holidays and maxi dresses, I think everyone’s minds are on getting a little bit fitter and more confident in there bodies.
I’m so lucky that I get to wear activewear every day for my job but I am quite into my fashion and still like to look stylish and put together. Good activewear really makes me have a better day so I thought I’d do a little video sharing what I wore Monday to Friday last…
In the last two weeks I have been lucky enough to have two fabulous PT sessions. One at UrbanCave in Soho which is where I am also teaching 121 Pilates on Thursdays and will tell you more about in another post and another session with my lovely friend and awesome trainer Tally Rye. As you know,…
Pilates is one of my favourite things in the world. I am so passionate about it’s benefits and think it’s wonderful that literally anyone and everyone can do it. It’s one of the only forms of exercises that is truly healthy for your body and mind and you can do it forever.
I am dreaming of Spring! Of maxi dresses, sunny afternoons, pub lunches and cute cropped tops. I can’t wait to not be cold! I don’t know about you but as March approaches my social calendar starts filling up pretty quickly. January and February is all work work work and then in the lead up to Summer, people start coming out to play right!
This is the first year I’ve had a backpack since I was about 6 and I love it. Backpacks are so fun and I’ve been loving the benefits, especially having free hands to swing around. I have to carry around so much with me and my shoulders and neck were really starting to get tense towards the end of last year. With a backpack the weight is evenly distributed across the body and the strongest muscles in the body, the abdominals and the back support the backpack. Just be aware that you are not leaning forwards to counteract the weight of the pack as this can lead to posture problems! My nice handbags were also getting ruined from being carried around all day and I also fill them up with healthy snacks so I thought right new year, new me, new backpack!
I love adding a bit of colour with accessories and bags as I’m not so daring with the colours I wear so I bought this New Balance Red Check one and I love it! In my latest video I show you it in more detail and all the things I carry in it! I thought it might be interesting to see what a Pilates instructor and healthy lifestyle blogger carries with her day to day and you might be surprised by a few unusual items. Check out my video here! I’ve also picked my favourite four backpacks from ASOS which you can see below. I love the metallic one the best and think I might get that for Spring time…
If you are like me at all and have indulged a little much over the last couple of weeks then it’s time to get back on it! I used to think that abs were only made in the kitchen and still believe that diet is a major factor to consider when wanting a flat tummy but I’ve recently been loving and seeing benefits from doing ab routines. I’ve realised that they really do make a difference and when done correctly certainly work up a sweat too and also really help with digestion! If I’ve not managed to get a workout in, then a 5 minute ab routine makes me feel great, positive and flatter!
You’ve probably seen this grey watch/bracelet/secret agent looking device on my wrist in my pictures recently. No, I’m not a secret agent (sometimes I pretend to be though) it is infact a Misfit Shine and at the end of this post I will show you how you can WIN one in my first official giveaway competition which I am so excited about. Before that though you probably want to find out what is it, why I’m addicted to it and how it can work for you!
We all want a perky round Kylie bottom right but there’s also loads of other benefits to working that booty. Our glutes are the bum muscles and need to be active and toned! In Pilates we work the glutes a lot for many benefits like improving core strength, preventing back pain, preventing injuries in activities like cycling, running, walking etc. I’ve recently loved using the swiss ball for my bum exercises so I show you how to use one in this video of my 3 Moves For A Perfect Booty but you can also do all the exercises without a swiss ball using the wall/window sill so go for it bootifuls!
I’ve been party dress shopping recently for Christmas events and love trying on lots of different styles. It’s nice to focus on what parts of your body you love and consider them when choosing a dress shape. I think the key areas to focus on showing off in winter dresses is legs, bum, shoulders and back. The belly can wait for summer! 😉 With party season in mind I decided to do a workout focusing on these areas! The workout is only 5 minutes long because I know we are always tight for time, especially this time of year, so you can do it once, twice or three times depending on how much time you have. I love doing a little workout in my bedroom before getting in the bath to get ready to go out. Maybe make this part of your getting ready routine!
