I am not a runner and don’t think I ever will be however I do love a good walk and how walking makes me feel. Without realising I generally walk quite a lot in a week. I walk 15 minutes to my station and 15 minutes home. I walk 15-20mins from London Bridge to Liverpool Street and back on the days I’m working there. I then generally try to walk from A to B when I’m having the day in London mooching around. I love being in the fresh air and moving my body without strain or too much effort ha! You might be surprised because I’m in the health and fitness industry and used to be a dedicated ballet dancer but I don’t actually enjoy working my body TOO hard and to be honest I don’t think its necessary. I take Pilates and Yoga classes, eat a balanced healthy varied diet and I walk.
I love online shopping and I love the Christmas season. However with all the crazy Christmas shoppers out there it’s hard to find the courage to brace the shops in the search for party season dresses and I don’t know about you but I always feel guilty buying things for myself in the months November and…
I am a girl all about balance! It’s what I promote and try to enforce when anyone asks me health/life related advice.
We can often tip the scales too far in one direction and this is when disaster strikes and the world around us falls apart. Okay maybe that was a slight exaggeration but in my experience things always go wrong if I do too much or too little of one thing.
There are certain foods and drink that only adults can consume! Examples are olives, coffee, wine, strong cheese and also grapefruits! Until the age of 20, I found all of the above repulsive and then all of a sudden I can’t get enough and I wonder what my teenager self was moaning about! Today I choose…
As a teenager, getting ready with the girls was such a major part of my life. It was even better than the actual going out sometimes. Your besties all coming round armed with make-up, outfit choices, nail varnish, drinks and nibbles, giggling and deciding want to wear, gossiping and talking about the night ahead. Oh so…
Who doesn’t love a pamper and who doesn’t love silky smooth hair? (I’m talking to you too boys!)
Once a week I try to give my hair a good old pamper session! This isn’t the best thing to do before styling your hair for a night out as it leaves it very fluffy and silky smooth so I generally do this on a weeknight.
These are the three miracle products I use…
Every year Kiss FM look for their next presenter by doing a nationwide search. This year the auditions were open at Westfields Shopping Centre in Shephards Bush and Stratford over two weekends. Hundreds of people audition and only a handful get in front of the judges.
I got fast tracked to go straight in front of the judges and was third to go in on a the Sunday at Westfields. I went in with the intention of being me. As a presenter this is all you can ever be! All I remember from my audition is singing TLC Waterfalls and explaining that Pilates gives you a good BOOTY! It’s safe to say I didn’t get my hopes up to get to the final 25 but the following Thursday while teaching Barre Pilates I got a tweet pop up on my phone telling me I’d got through! I couldn’t quite believe it and the feeling was amazing to think that they’d noticed me and my presenting talent out of all those people! It’s important to hold on to those feelings when you get good news! I like to bank them in a little memory bank so whenever you feel down you can go back to that moment and feel happy, warm and proud even when things aren’t going your way.
Saturday night I went to the celeb hotspot STK for dinner with my boyfriend and our friends. I sometimes find these trendy expensive restaurants a bit ‘too much’ and overpriced but I was pleasantly surprised with STK. It definitely exceeded my expectations.
Firstly it is a steak house combined with a blush lounge bar ( warning- cocktails are to die for!) Our table was booked for 9:15pm which seems late but we arrived at 8pm for drinks and the atmosphere, good company, drinks and DJ gets you in the mood for a long night so 9:15 sit down didn’t feel late at all! We were lucky enough to be seated at one of the booths in the main dining area which I would definitely recommend requesting if you can.
Is anyone else a tiny bit confused that it’s October?! I literally still think it’s July! Slow down 2013 YOU’RE IN SUCH A RUSH! (Yes I just addressed ‘2013’ as if it were a human!)
Everyone always talks about how fast the year goes by and of course time is time so it can’t really be going any faster than previous years but it honestly is this year!
So are you a goal setter? Did you make new years resolutions? How are they going? (looks sheepish, grunts, changes subject) Okay I’m honestly not much of a goal setter either which is weird because I am a crazy driven person. I still feel like there are some things to be achieved in 2013 and maybe goal setting is the way to go!
1. Pret Tropical Green Tea
Green tea is like olives! You have to have 8 attempts at liking them before you actually do! I never used to like green tea! I forced myself to like it many a times! Then all of a sudden I loved it (couldn’t get enough) however there is an art to a good green tea which will come in another post! For now, I will just express my love for Pret a Mangers Green Tea as it is the best I have yet to find! It is a tropical one and I assume it is there own brand but it is just the perfect combination of greenery and fruitiness! (well described I know) If you are a green tea virgin then I suggest Pret Green Tea as a starter!
