So the Easter bunny is on his way and as you may know by now I am a self confessed chocoholic so Easter is a very exciting time of year for me. However, I have been quite particular about the Easter egg I want this year much to my boyfriends annoyance. It’s a Booja Booja…
I am excited to share my latest video with you and my first giveaway. Oh my I love blissballs. I’ve made various versions of them and also buy the bounceballs when out and about too. If you haven’t tried them or tried making your own then you must because they are so easy and require no baking or cooking. As well as being super healthy they are pretty yummy.
These blissballs are the perfect snack for the afternoon when energy levels might be a little low. Rather than reaching for a chocolate bar or coke, make a batch of these raw energising blissballs to have on hand at around 4pm. Here’s the recipe…
Sometimes I find myself guilty of multitasking. I can be eating lunch, while reading a magazine and replying to emails on my phone or in the morning I could be half way through making a smoothie and then suddenly think ‘oh no I better do my mascara first” and then get distracted and feel putting…
I was so lucky to win a Sage Appliance Juicer from Planet Organic a few weeks ago and it has definitely come into good hands. This juice is so so delicious! Mango is one of my favourite fruits as it’s pretty naturally sweet and I wanted to change up my usual green juice. As the sun was shining I thought this tropical twist would be perfect!
- 2 small carrots
- 1 kiwi (peeled)
- 1 cox apple
- handful kale
- 2 handfuls spinach
- half a cucumber
- half a small mango (chopped)
- 2 tsp flaxseeds
- 2 tsp chia seeds
Juice everything except the spinach, kale, mango, flax and chia seeds. Then add spinach and kale to blender with the juice and blend then add the mango, flax and chia seeds and blend. I also add some ice to make nice a cold! Enjoy!
Glowing skin, improved mental focus, weight loss and improved digestion are just some of the claimed benefits of doing a juice cleanse. Juice cleanses are everywhere and have been for a while now, I’d not really looked into them until recently as I thought perhaps it was just another fad diet but after researching a little more, talking to friends and becoming more open minded, I thought I’d give one a go.
Check out my… Little Instagram Video on the day
I don’t believe in diets and as you know if you follow me, my ethos is to live a healthy balanced sustainable lifestyle to promote wellbeing and happiness. Lots of people promote incorporating juice cleanses or simply drinking a juice a day into your lifestyle. Claiming that the juiced vegetables and fruits aid detoxing and ridding the body of toxins. A juice floods the body with vitamins, minerals, enzymes and plant based protein without having to work hard to digest. So I thought it’d be pretty fun to get this surge of healthiness and luckily Fruveju sent me there 1 day Explore Cleanse to try.
Last Saturday I taught my Mat Moves Pilates class at the Lululemon showroom in Covent Garden. My Mat Moves class is a whole body conditioning class and incorporates Pilates exercises with traditional ballet barre exercises transferred to the mat. The class works deep intrinsic muscles that you never knew existed and aims to improve flexibility, posture and core stability to give you that long lean sculpted physique!
I was so excited to teach at the store as I love Lululemon’s activewear (I own 4 pairs of there leggings already- they are the best!) I was really looking forward to becoming part of Lululemon community especially as they are soon to be opening a new permanent store on the famous Long Arce.
Want to find out Electra Formosa’s favourite places to eat, things to cook and how she keeps her skin so gorgeous? Keep reading…
I’ve followed Electra on social media and watched her beauty and fashion Youtube videos for a while. We met at a healthy lifestyle event last month where we took a yoga class and talked juice cleanses and LA dreams, I wasn’t surprised that she is as glowing, happy and positive in person as she is online.
Electra is in the fashion and TV industry but is also passionate about healthy living and lives a beautiful balanced life along side busy London Fashion Weeks, presenting for Disney and styling in LA. I was sure Electra would have some great tips to share with us so read her inspiring interview below to find out a little more…
Heads up- Mother’s Day is Sunday 30th March. This is one of my favourite days of the year because Mum’s are pretty awesome and this whole day is dedicated to celebrating how great they are and thanking them for all they have done. Isn’t it so wonderful how everyone believes that there mum is the best mum in the world. It’s true, your mum is the best in the world, as is mine and every other mum out there because they truly would do anything for you, you come first no matter what and no matter how naughty you are, how much you let them down or disappoint them, they will love you unconditionally and that is the beauty of a mother’s love.
No matter what you budget on Mother’s Day, I think what makes a gift or gesture really special is the thought and time that has gone into it. A mum knows if you’ve popped to the shop late on the Saturday night before to get a card and bunch of flowers you know! You’ve got three weeks, so there’s some time to have a think about what your mum would really appreciate from you this year. Below are some ideas I’ve thought of…
Sometimes I follow recipes or really plan a meal myself from specific ingredients but other times I just see what I have in the fridge and cupboards and go with the flow. This is how I create some of my favourite dishes and it’s what I think cooking is all about, experimenting and having fun in the kitchen. This is exactly how I made My Chilli Garlic Tomato Prawns, they are so tasty and super quick to make so perfect for mid week dinner. This recipe is also the one you want if you are coming down with cold or flu symptoms due to the volatile oils in chilli and garlic.
Chillies, as well as adding such a strong spicy flavour to a dish, are so good for you. They have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects which is why they are said to help remove toxins from the body and lower cholesterol. They can also aid digestion, reduce cravings and boost metabolism. Another super health booster in this recipe is garlic. Garlic is known for helping circulation and digestion as well as boosting the immune system. So get cooking!
