Why I Meditate And Simple Tips To Start Today

I must admit I am someone who was a little sceptical of meditation to start with but after various attempts at Take 10 and the Deepak Chopra’s 21 Day meditations I started to feel the benefits- if only I could find those 10 minutes every day! It’s something that’s definitely moving up on the priority list now and after a weekend teaching Pilates at The Retreat Collection Yoga And Pilates retreat, where we did lots of different meditations, I was inspired to fully commit to a daily practice again. The main difference I notice is that I am calmer. In general my mood is enhanced, my energy levels improve, I make better choices, I feel more certain, I am more productive and more aware of my surroundings. So why and how am I meditating today and find out a few amazing tips so you can start too…

I’m so excited to be back with regular videos on YouTube. I’ll be doing similar style of content to what I was doing last year with lots of Pilates routines, what I eat in a day videos and lifestyle videos. Let me know what you’d like to see too, whether it’s beauty, vlogs, healthy recipes, Q&A’s, just leave me a comment and I’ll be happy to do them for you. My first video which went up on Saturday morning is a wake up and go morning Pilates routine created to get you straight from bed to feeling bright and breezy for the day ahead.

Every Day In May

I can’t believe I’ve never done a fitness challenge before- marathons, half marathons, 10ks, they all seem so scary to me as non enthusiastic yet hopeful runner. Then there’s your tough mudders and adrenaline rush type challenges which definitely get me excited but are yet to be ticked off my list. Then I came across Every Day In May. EDIM is an inspiring charity event set up by Sally Pinnegar, Director of Fit Naturally Ltd with the challenge to cover 5 or 10k every day in May by any means- running, walking, swimming, cycling, skipping, dancing…

A Healthy Day With My Bestie

healthy day with me and my bestie PANDORA ESSENCE LOTTIE MURPHY

I feel incredibly lucky to have the most unique inspiring best friends. I only have a handful but they really are like my family and my biggest inspiration. They are all incredible little entrepreneurs carving out their careers to be able to do what they love doing every single day, not just at weekends! This means that Friday working from coffee shop days can turn into healthy fun days with my bestie, Natalie Glaze. This is my second and final post inspired by PANDORA’s ESSENCE range to celebrate my friends and their unique traits and what better way to celebrate Natalie, my fellow blogger babe then by blogging about our healthy day together! There’s nothing better than putting the world right with this one over a matcha latte and bar of dark chocolate (this happens quite often.)

the essence of her PANDORA post

Becoming an adult is pretty scary and I feel like life hits you smack in the face in your twenties, all of a sudden you have thousands of responsibilities. We all deal with pressure to varied degrees and I do love this pressure; having busy schedule, a booming inbox and constant burning goals inside me. I have always wanted to work for myself and be incredibly independent and this is completely down to my superwoman mum. This is a really special post for me and yes I know Mother’s Day has been and gone but I just want to celebrate my mum in this post because without her, my world wouldn’t go round as smoothly it does and I probably wouldn’t have a drawer full of spare birthday cards ready to send. I was really inspired by PANDORA’s ESSENCE range which is all about celebrating the values you appreciate in the people you are closest too, relationships that mean so much to you…

How We Eat Is How We Live

Processed with VSCO with f2 presetHow we eat is how we live is an interesting concept but one that struck a cord with me when I came across it while studying to be a holistic health coach. Thinking about how we eat is just as important as what we eat and I’m writing this post as a huge reminder to myself too. Being kind to yourself is key and this really counts when it comes to your relationship with food. Eating when you are hungry is a huge one that I hear lots of people struggle with. Do you eat when you are bored, tired, emotional? Do you eat when you are full up already? Here’s some tips to start eating how you want to live…

My Spring Skincare Routine

With Spring in the air, it’s time to refresh the beauty regime. Why not try switching to some natural organic beauty brands, my long term love is Neals Yard Remedies. I have been using their Wild Rose Beauty Balm for over a year now and swear by it. I’ve also recently started using Dr Hauschka after a make up artist gave me the most incredible facial with their products. I also use more simple products like coconut oil to take up make up off and coffee scrub to exfoliate. So here’s my current routine…

Getting Brave In The Bush

Let me start by explaining I am a bit of a wuss, I always have been. I even remember crying when I was younger while an exterminator was performing the raccoon removal process on one of the little critters in our attic. As I’ve become an adult I guess I’ve toughened up a little and ten months a go when I booked safari in South Africa, it felt like a daunting but exciting challenge in the near future but last week as we drove deeper into the game reserve I could feel my nerves heighten…
