January and February are tough, the days are short; the wind is icy cold and our skin and energy levels seems to take the strain. Here are 5 simple tips to help you glow from the inside out during these winter months.
1. Drink Water
Drinking water is a great way to flush out the toxins in your body and keep skin hydrated. Dehydration makes you feel exhausted so when you’re lacking in energy reach for a glass of H20. When you’re hydrated your skin is plumper- filling out lines and making your complexion smoother. It’s like beauty cream from the tap!
2. Good Fats
Foods high in healthy fats and omega-3s are the best for a glowing even complexion. My favourites are salmon, avocado and almonds. Fatty acids are vital for regulating cell function and as our skin cells are constantly being renewed its important to eat essential fats for healthy skin.
3. Positive Thoughts
One of my favourite quotes is from Roald Dahl “when you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” You’ve seen those healthy happy positive people who just seem to light up a room when they walk in.
