Feeling content is something I’ve always struggled with but desired to feel more than anything. More than success, love, happiness. The state of being contented with your situation in life. I’m at a stage in my life right now where I feel just that; it’s a feeling for me where things aren’t perfect and don’t even have to be, I’m still striving for personal and career goals, there’s still ups and downs every day, the world’s and life’s struggles are still present but every day life is enjoyable, simple and lovely. It’s a feeling kind of like when everything just clicks, syncs and falls into place. There’s little stress and worry but lots of enjoying the present moment and looking forward to what’s to come. A feeling of loving what you have and you have everything you need and it’s enough.

My Month With No Alcohol And Why

What the hell guys, I thought the “it’s harder as you get older” thing was a myth. I used to roll my eyes at people that would say “just you wait!” The times I’ve had a drink for the first half of this year, I’ve really felt awful. I can feel it in my body, my hair, my eyes, my skin, my mood, my energy levels. I’ve even wrote an oath the last few times claiming I’ll never drink again but then Friday night rolls around, it’s a birthday, there’s elderflower processo and the oath goes out the window. So you wouldn’t think July was the most ideal month to give up alcohol but I needed it.

Pilates Fundamentals Routine For Everyone

I’ve been a Pilates teacher for over 4 years now and have seen a lot of different bodies and every body is different. I teach beginners to Pilates, beginners to movement in general, dancers, athletes, other Pilates teachers, people with injuries, elderly people and the list goes on and every one needs different levels and exercises to feel challenged and to help their own body improve and feel more balanced however the one thing everyone can benefit from no matter what level they are at is the Pilates fundamentals.

A Day In The Life

Like lots us today, I have many different hats to wear when we comes to my “job”, putting that in quotation marks because I don’t see myself as even having a proper job. I have a life and a career and the two are very much entwined. I’m all about work/life balance and as a Pilates instructor and lifestyle blogger, there’s definitely no 9-5 or even Monday to Friday work week. I might be teaching, organizing events and retreats, writing, shooting, reviewing restaurants, attending a press launch, meeting brands and photographers, researching, travelling and within that I love working out, cooking, seeing my friends etc, so a day in the life doesn’t really exist but a typical day might look something like this.

Emily and I are so used to moving our bodies every day with Pilates and yoga, walking around London teaching and attending classes and we had every intention of starting the day with movement while away. My Top 8 Coffee and Laptop Spots in London (and they do oat milk!)

If you follow my Instagram stories you’ll know that my life is very on the go and during the week I could be teaching clients, teaching at press events, attending launches, meetings, working out, catching up with friends etc; so I tend to work from coffee shops for a few hours at a time. Over the years I’ve potentially got a bit picky with my coffee and freelance life has enabled me to find my little wifi spots to hang out and get cosy with my laptop. My environment is key when I’m working whether it’s smashing through emails, writing a blog post or organising my retreats, I like to be around a buzz of creative people all working on their own projects. I rarely work from home but when I do I’m way less productive and the coffee isn’t so good. You’d be surprised who you get chatting to working this way too. I’m usually in Central London between Fitzrovia, Covent Garden and The City. I’ve rounded up 8 of my fave places to hang out, enjoy some granola or avo on toast and a cup of coffee (don’t forget the oat milk) and get my laptop out! I’ve had a skincare routine for as long as I can remember from seeing my Nan and Mum apply there creams and smelling wonderful every night as a little girl. Perhaps that’s why I’m so dedicated to my skincare and find it such a comforting part of my day. My bathroom is full of products, balms, serums, exfoliators, cleansers, sprays, masks, oils and I love trying new ones (so much for clutter free bathroom drawers.) Create Your Own Honest Garden Pilates Sanctuary

Last week I was lucky enough to teach perhaps one of my favourite classes to date as a Pilates Instructor. It was at The Honest Garden which was a little pop up on the Southbank for Honest Tea which are a super yummy organic cold tea brand. They have launched three new flavours including my favourite lemon and honey (I mix it with spirulina at home which is so much nicer than water.) It was one of the most beautiful days in London last Friday, blue skies, a speckle of clouds, very warm, a light breeze and all at 7am!! It wasn’t cold at all! We overlooked the Thames and St Paul’s and got down to practice on our mats.
