I’ve had a skincare routine for as long as I can remember from seeing my Nan and Mum apply there creams and smelling wonderful every night as a little girl. Perhaps that’s why I’m so dedicated to my skincare and find it such a comforting part of my day. My bathroom is full of products, balms, serums, exfoliators, cleansers, sprays, masks, oils and I love trying new ones (so much for clutter free bathroom drawers.) However I know my skin is quite sensitive so I tend to always go back to my faves that I use consistency but this year I have discovered a new natural brand that is taking over my bathroom…
I was introduced to Balance Me at the start of the year with their Flash Cleanse Miscellar Water and used it religiously. Even when I’m exhausted and can’t be faffed with a 100 step skincare routine, I swear by Miscellar Water for removing make up and cleansing my skin; it’s not too harsh and makes my skin feel super clean. The Balance Me one also has a really helpful push pump where you put the cotton pad on and push down, which means you don’t overuse it and it lasts for ages. This was my only Balance Me product but I loved it and it wasn’t until I was invited to have a facial at Balance Me with their Head Facial Therapist Mandy Oxley Swan when I was wowed by their whole range.
I probably go to get a facial about once a year because I pretty much give them to myself every night but this was such a wonderful experience to be introduced to the whole range and for Mandy to tell me more about my skin and what products would be suitable also it was so so relaxing. Facial massage is really something I think we all forget about but it honestly feels wonderful. I hold a lot of tension around my lips and jaw and most of us also hold a lot around our eyebrows. Even give yourself a little massage and encourage your face muscles to relax throughout the day, it makes such a difference. I entered the room slightly rushed and frazzled and left floating on air with my skin feeling completely nourished.
Mandy said my skin was in general really good but slightly congested around my nose which is where I tend to get blackheads so she used the Congested Skin Serum in these areas. I’ve never come across a product specifically for this before and since using it a few times a week for over a month now I’ve honestly noticed such a difference to this area. It’s so much less congested and smoother. I also get a little bit of redness around my cheeks and dry patches and usually use a coffee scrub once a week to help with this however I wanted something that was a little lighter that I could use daily to help with this. Mandy recommended the Balance Me Cleanse Smooth Face Balm which is one of my new “can’t live without” products. You can use it with or without water but I like to use it in the shower in the morning and really massage it in to get it working and into all the groovessss. It’s the perfect set up before applying a light moisturiser for the day.
My morning routine is a lot simpler than my night time routine so I come out the shower and use the Natural Protection Moisturiser SPF 25. A face SPF is essential especially during this gorgeous Summer we are having. The sun is literally beaming on me as I write this post. I also find using an SPF actually gives me a nice even long lasting light tan and makes me feel like I’m doing my bit to avoid those future wrinkles. This product was also part of my Ibiza retreat goody bag. The standard body SPFs always bring out some pimples if I lazily use them on my face on the beach so will definitely be using this on my holidays this year too.
The evening is when I take my time and tend to alternate between a night cream and an oil to sleep in. Balance Me have two face oils and my favourite is the Rose Otto Face Oil which I’ve been using since my facial with Mandy. Massaging this in with small circular motions and breathing in the gorgeous rose scent is such a lovely ritual and not only calms my skin but my mind too.
I can’t get enough of this brand and am excited to be teaming up with them this week on a lovely Pilates and skincare event. My skincare routine is part of my daily me time to feel balanced and happy. As you know I rarely write about skincare brands and wouldn’t unless I’ve tried, tested and used the products for a while which I have with Balance Me.
Have fun checking out the whole range here.
Love, Lottie x
